“Artist” is my most recent incarnation. Other careers have been bookseller, homeschooling mom, poet, administrative assistant, seamstress/dressmaker, telephone solicitor (very short-lived!). I am crazy for color and texture: I like thick, smeary paint put on with palette knife or painting wedge. I like the crisp feel of paper and wavy lines cut with a rotary cutter to make collages. I like designing stylish clothing mashups made from multiple garments. I like surprising photographs. I am constantly amazed at the collaboration — and surprises —that happen in the creative process.
