Danica Wixom is a native of Vancouver, WA and 2013 graduate from Washington State University. Wixom grew up always doing art, but after a death in the family, she discovered that making art was very tied to the way she processed the emotions of grief and the larger-than-life questions that tumbled around her head and her heart. Her work became a sort of “visual diary,” incorporating a variety of symbols and self portraits. Though traditionally a painter in acrylic, Wixom uses whatever media seems to best fit her mood and the idea she’s wanting to portray.
