Ann-Marie Bilderback moved to Moscow in 2009 and works primarily in oils and pastel. Two of her favorite things are working with the play of color and light in shadows and losing track of time in her studio. The inspiration for her ‘Fish Out of Water’ series came from a passage in one of Plato’s dialogs, the Phaedo – “Pure thought is the highest form of reality – everything else is but an illusion” – which Ann-Marie interpreted to mean that more than one reality could exist concurrently!
